Tasting note
The 2018 Tapestry masterfully blends Bordeaux grapes from Napa Valley. Cabernet offers blackberry, anise; Merlot adds plum, cherry, softens tannins. Malbec brings wild raspberry; Cabernet Franc/Petit Verdot, darker fruits, floral hints. French oak aging adds mocha, molasses, enriching aroma, finish.
Viticulture
We select top-quality vineyard blocks for Tapestry, ensuring terroir expression and approachable tannins. Half of Cabernet is from Rutherford AVA, the rest from Calistoga, Oakville, and Coombsville. Merlot from warm Carneros and Rutherford Bench, Petit Verdot and Malbec from Rutherford. Cabernet Franc from Howell Mountain yields small, concentrated berries.
Vinification
We customized winemaking for each varietal, emphasizing vintage and vineyard block traits. Optical sorting, cold soak, gentle pumpovers, and in-barrel malolactic fermentation enriched texture and complexity. 60% new French oak aging for 22 months added depth and freshness.
