Tasting note
Aromas of red fruits (redcurrants), dark fruits (blueberries), violets, and light tobacco. Smooth on the palate with fine tannins and a long finish.
Viticulture
Château Durfort-Vivens, in Margaux, Cantenac, and Soussans, features hilltop vines on deep, poor gravel. Deposited by the Garonne, this terroir aids early ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon, expressing finesse and silkiness in the tannins. The estate prioritizes a natural balance, employing traditional techniques for a truly exceptional Margaux.
Vinification
After very careful harvesting, the wines are selected according to the part of the vineyard they come from, in small volume vats housed in the new cellars. Matured for 20 months in oak barrels, 45% of which are new.
Food Match
Charcuterie, red meat and cheese.
