Tasting note
Rounded, full Malbec, velvety yet structured, heavily perfumed with baked plums, raisins, berries and hints of cacao and vanilla.
Viticulture
In the enchanting Calchaqui Valley, home to El Esteco winery, magic truly happens. This hidden valley, over 1800 meters above sea level in the North of Argentina, boasts unique features—poor alluvial soils, high sun exposure, low humidity, and broad thermal amplitude—making it an exceptional wine region.
Vinification
Hand-harvested small grape bunches undergo pre-fermentation maceration at 5°C. Fermentation, using both native and selected yeasts, adds complexity. Natural malolactic fermentation in American and French barrels precedes 12 months of aging. The unfiltered wine ages for an extra 6 months at the winery before release.
Food Match
Try it with braised lamb shanks accompanied by spicy beans and chorizo stew.
