Tasting note
Arneis is a lovely white grape from Piedmont, recently repopularised and this is a fine example, filled with tropical fruit, honey and ripe pears, enhanced by a strong scent of hawthorn blossom.
Vinification
Upon arrival, grapes are gently pressed, separating juice from skins. Must goes to conditioned stainless tank. Cold settling, low-temp (65°F) fermentation follows. Stored at 40°C post-fermentation to halt malolactic. Aged 4-5 months on lees in steel for depth. Cold stabilized, bottled pre-summer for pure expression
Food Match
Served chilled, it is a great aperitif. It is also ideal with fish, hors-d’oeuvres, light starters, risotto and pasta.
