Tasting note
Vivid, approachable Beaujolais from a top village, full of red fruits such as cranberries and raspberries, with forest fruits, elegantly arranged, in the mouth.
Vinification
Grapes from La Madone vineyard, at the top of the southwestern slopes of the hillside overlooking village of Fleurie. Vinified partly by carbonic maceration (fermenting whole grapes without breaking their skins, thereby arresting the release of tannin) and partly in contact with the skins in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged in very large oak foudres.
Food Match
An excellent partner for white meats, especially pork or rabbit, and can be paired with richly flavoured, textured fish such as tuna or swordfish steaks. Try it with soft white cheese, or as an interesting aperitif.
