Tasting note
Classic Nebbiolo hue: garnet with deep brick red. Nose reveals roses, violets, subtle star anise. Palate: deep, structured, powerful. Rich red fruits, spiced plums, red liquorice, robust earthy tannins. Remarkably bright, generous finish. A testament to our commitment to this exceptional variety.
Viticulture
The 2018 season posed challenges like extreme weather: rain, humidity, wind, and heat. King Valley got 80mm rain in Nov, aiding vines against Dec-Jan's high temps. Feb had ideal ripening: warm days, cool nights, and our unique breeze. Yields average; expect top-quality grapes and intense wines.
Vinification
Since 2003, we've grown premier Nebbiolo vines using clone 220. Planted on dry ridges, these vines yield our best fruit. Wines show rich colour, concentrated flavour from premier ridge sites. Grapes hand-harvested, fermented with Barolo yeast. Aged 20 months in oak after malolactic fermentation.
