Tasting note
Brick red with cherry hue. Nose starts with raspberry, cherry, evolves to spices, earthiness. On the palate: rich, seductive, plums, cherries, leather, earth. Balanced fruit, acidity, chalky tannins - drink now or age.
Viticulture
Abundant rain after a decade, nourishing roots. Robust health, strong growth. Cool summer prolonged vines' ideal temp, enhancing flavour. A 'vintage year' of high quality, good yield. Similar conditions last seen in 2002.
Vinification
Crafted using BM45 yeast, renowned for Brunello wines. Hot fermentation at 30°C extracts intense colour, flavour, and tannins. Heat also refines tannins via polymerisation. After alcohol fermentation, free-run wine rests briefly before barrel ageing for 14 months with malolactic fermentation. Meticulously blended, fined, and bottled for exceptional taste.
Food Match
Ragu or Bolognese and homemade pasta.
