Tasting note
A tropical German Riesling with a slightly creamy palate, the lychees and mangoes kept fresh by apples, mirabelle and a tangy dose of passion fruit.
Viticulture
A 'second wine' from Leitz's grand cru vineyards - a blend of the great vineyard sites of the epic 'Rüdesheimer Berg' mountain located in the middle of Rheingau. The vines have an average age of 35 years, trellised with the Cordon system and the canopy management is Leitz's own system developed through decades of experience.
Vinification
Whole cluster pressing, overnight settling on skins and then temperature controlled fermentation in old oak barrels (Stück). The wines are left in barrel on lees for 9 months, then filtered via cross flow.
Food Match
Enjoy this wine with grilled Tuna alongside teriyaki vegetables, or pike with avocado cubes and a passion fruit foam.
