Enotria&Coe is not just a supplier. Our business is built on long-standing relationships, working together with our customers to achieve their goals. For us, our customer service is not simply ensuring that we offer and deliver a diverse range of wines and spirits, it is about the value-add support that we can give to maximise profitable growth.
A core part of this value-add support is our Training offering. We offer a wide range of options to equip staff with the knowledge required to drive sales and maximise profitability, including WSET courses, spirits training, and specialised programmes.
Our training team comprises of hospitality veterans, Charlie Carter and Leti Narracci, who truly understand the industry and its needs. They are fully qualified and certified WSET educators, and have extensive product knowledge, especially when it comes to our portfolio!
As an Approved Programme Provider for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), we are the only UK distributor to offer WSET Levels 1-3 Wine & 1-2 Spirits and with pass rates of 90%, on par with the global average. The majority of candidates who sit the examinations at level 2 achieve Merits and Distinctions (70% and above). Our aim is to expand our WSET offering even further this year to include Level 3 Spirits.
Our WSET courses are primarily conducted in our designated Training facility at our offices in Park Royal, London. However, we recognise that it is not always easy to travel to London, so to be as flexible and responsive to our nationwide customer-base as possible, we also offer on-site training for clients with sizeable groups of candidates.
During this academic year we have trained over 700 WSET candidates, which according to data provided by the WSET themselves is more than 38% higher than the nearest UK distributor offering similar courses. This is an achievement that we are extremely proud of, but it is the feedback that we receive from customers themselves that make it really worthwhile:
“Thank you for all your patience and support during the teaching process. You are very good in your job and it was an absolute pleasure to meet you. I had an amazing experience and I’m glad that I’ve learn more about wines and grapes varieties. I’m extremely happy that I’ve passed the test with 90%. I couldn’t believe it.” Ancuta Ionita, Waitress at Crazy Bear
“Thank you for your time last week, the feedback from staff was amazing, very informative, and most importantly it was delivered in the simple understanding way. Hope we can organise another session very soon.” Dove Gruzaite, Head of F&B, Events at City Experiences
Standard educational programmes may not always meet the unique needs of every venue, so we are very happy to craft training modules and sessions for our customers tailored to all levels of knowledge and formats.
When creating custom modules, we analyse our clients' wine and spirits offerings to adapt our training programmes accordingly, then draw on our full expertise at Enotria&Coe to provide the best possible solution. This may involve tapping into our Buying teams’ experience, assisting customers in optimising revenue from specific wine regions or producers. Or sharing the knowledge of our Head of Fine Wine, Kathrine Larsen-Robert MS, whose background as a Master Sommelier makes her ideal for advising on integrating Fine Wines into a list and promoting upselling.
Most of our bespoke training takes place at our customers' own sites. This approach offers several advantages. Firstly, it is more convenient for the customers, allowing them to organise sessions around their staff's busy schedules without requiring them to travel off-site. Yet, conducting training on-site is also crucial for ensuring its bespoke nature. We recognise that the unique characteristics of each venue significantly influence how wine and spirits are presented and communicated to guests. Therefore, being in the venue provides invaluable context and enables us to tailor the training effectively to meet the specific needs of each establishment.
Working in hospitality means it is often extremely difficult to set aside significant chunks of time for training, especially for venues with small teams. In response, we offer digital training solutions that allow your team to access training materials on the go, at any time, via an app.
Our existing clients can take advantage of a wide range of training modules available through Flow, a dedicated Hospitality E-learning platform. From basic skills, like serving wine with confidence, to deeper dives into regional differences and grape varieties, we have created modules with the aim to instil confidence and knowledge in your staff and are continuously expanding our offerings to meet your needs.
