WSET Training

Discounted training

We recognise that effective staff education is crucial for our customers to enhance their revenues and margins. That is why we provide access to a variety of WSET educational programs – the preferred choice for wine and spirits education in the UK – at significantly reduced rates compared to what is available through public WSET providers. Led by our head of training, Charlie Carter, our team of WSET-certified trainers can deliver a wide array of courses from the WSET’s extensive portfolio of wine and spirits education.

Wine Levels 1, 2, 3

To fully leverage the potential of our portfolio for our customers who feature our wines on their lists, Enotria&Coe provides WSET courses up to Level 3, with Level 2 being the most popular among our clients. We take pride in maintaining a consistently high pass rate, averaging 86% across all our wine courses. While our WSET training is primarily conducted at our facilities in Park Royal, we also offer the possibility of on-site sessions for clients with sizable groups of candidates.

Spirits Levels 1, 2

Aligned with our increasing dedication to the spirits category, we offer WSET Level 1 and Level 2 in Spirits. These courses not only empower bar staff to feel more confident about the products in their backbar, thus aiding in sales growth, but can also serve as a valuable complement to the wine knowledge of managers and sommeliers.

Bespoke training

Selling your wine list

Standard educational programmes may not always meet the unique needs of every establishment, so we remain flexible and open to crafting tailored training modules and sessions for our customers. Some of these customised programs tap into the expertise of our buying team, assisting customers in optimising revenue from specific wine regions or producers. When creating custom modules, we uphold a highly adaptable approach, meticulously analysing our clients' wine offerings to tailor our training programmes accordingly. Their primary objective is to instil confidence in staff, enabling them to proficiently communicate about specific products or sections of the wine list, thereby optimising profitability.

On-site training

The majority of our bespoke training takes place at our customers' own sites. This approach offers several advantages. Firstly, it is more convenient for the customers, allowing them to schedule sessions around their staff's busy schedules without requiring them to travel off-site. Yet, conducting training on-site is also crucial for ensuring its bespoke nature. We recognise that the unique characteristics of each venue significantly influence how wine and spirits are presented and communicated to guests. Therefore, being in the venue provides invaluable context and enables us to tailor the training effectively to meet the specific needs of each establishment.

Our training facility

For the majority of our WSET training sessions, we utilise our dedicated training facilities located at Enotria&Coe headquarters in London's Park Royal. These facilities comprise two main spaces. The first is a spacious educational room, well-suited for larger groups of up to approximately 30 individuals. The second space can accommodate up to 14 people. It provides an optimal environment for tasting and educational sessions, featuring white surface bar tops, stools, screens for presentations, glassware, and spittoons.

Digital training

In addition to our WSET courses and bespoke educational programmes, our existing clients can take advantage of a wide range of training modules available through Flow. These modules cover a diverse array of topics, catering to different levels of expertise and interests. From basic skills like serving wine with confidence to deeper dives into regional differences and grape varieties, our modules aim to instil confidence and knowledge in our clients' staff. Our sessions provide comprehensive wine-focused education, and we are continuously expanding our offerings to include more content focused on spirits. This ensures that our customers have the tools they need to maximise profits across all drinks categories.

A tried-and-tested platform

To offer our digital training, we rely on Flow Learning by Mapal, as we believe it to be the ideal online training partner. With a stellar track record in delivering world-class e-training within the sector, Flow stands out as the most popular and trusted learning management system for the hospitality industry, as it is uniquely tailored to its needs. Given its widespread recognition, many of our customers already have accounts with Flow, which allows us to seamlessly share our modules with them directly on their own platforms, facilitating an ideal cross-pollination of resources and knowledge.

Convenient access

In addition to it being a widely acclaimed e-training platform in the sector, Enotria&Coe’s content on Flow is also incredibly convenient, as modules are easily accessible via the Flow app on mobile devices. Drawing from our deep roots in hospitality, we fully grasp the industry's demands. Staff in bars and restaurants are constantly on the move, always busy catering to guest needs and may not have the luxury of sitting down for extended periods like office staff. The ability to access modules conveniently on their mobile devices, anytime and anywhere, is crucial to ensure that staff can effectively utilise them amidst their busy schedules.
