Our facility
Scale
Our primary warehousing hub, strategically located in London's Park Royal just adjacent to our offices, spans an impressive 85,000 square feet. Our facility is a bustling hive of activity, manned by a dedicated team of 90 warehouse operatives. With 6,500 lines of stock strategically stored across 14,000 pallet spaces and 5,000 pick bins, we ensure efficient storage and retrieval.
On an average day, we handle between 750 and 1,000 orders, promptly dispatching them across the country. 60% of our volume caters to the London area, 40% spans the country, and a digital sales niche accounts for a dynamic 2%. Our extensive fleet, distributed across seven regions nationwide, facilitates this delivery volume.
It consists of 22 vehicles at Park Royal, an additional 23 in-country, and supplemental reserve units. These vehicles are operated by our team of 60 drivers and driver assistants.
Local presence, national reach
Our logistics efficiency extends beyond the main hub. Operating from 10 regional hubs strategically positioned throughout the country, our regional fleet efficiently picks up deliveries trunked overnight from Park Royal. Unlike our competitors, this unique setup enables us to offer our entire portfolio to all clients, irrespective of their location. By adopting this approach, we achieve a true national reach while preserving a genuine regional presence.
Our drivers, dispersed across these depots, are locals who intimately know the areas and the customers. It is a strategy that allows us to combine scale and efficiency while reinforcing our commitment to personalised service.
HMRC Regulated
Our advantage in the industry goes beyond simply having a warehouse; it lies in the distinction of it being a bonded one. This unique status sets us apart from competitors by allowing us to cater to clients requiring the delivery of goods underbond, such as cruise companies, embassies, and airports.
But operating a bonded warehouse also brings significant benefits to our entire customer base, as it fosters a seamlessly professional operation. We track every bit of stock with precision, from arrival to dispatch, adhering to strict HMRC regulations to maintain constant compliance.
Moreover, many of our clients who require goods underbond implement stringent security controls at delivery points. Our ability to adapt to these high standards benefits all our customers, too, with our operations and drivers excelling in delivering sleek and secure services across the board.
Continuous improvement
Running extensive operations to supply diverse customers across multiple channels demands exceptional agility. Our commitment to swiftly respond to our customers’ varied needs is embodied in our continuous improvement system, which involves distributing responsibilities across different functional areas by empowering everyone to identify and address issues.
This system is meticulously designed with the ultimate goal of ensuring customers receive precisely what they want, where and when they want it, a minute attention to operational details that mirrors our passion for the wine and drinks industry and dedication to our suppliers and customers.
Trade-focused shifts
We tailor our operations for optimal trade support, implementing variable cut-off times based on order origin. Direct warehouse deliveries maintain a 2pm cut-off, with customer service finalising everything within one hour, seamlessly transitioning to the transport team. For regional hubs, the cut-off is at 11am, providing ample time for evening planning and overnight picking, and allowing regional drivers to efficiently handle deliveries the next morning.
Our meticulously optimised operations minimise the chances of failure. For peace of mind, however, our Priority Failure programme guarantees heightened attention for a swift resolution of any issue. This fully traceable system allows us to precisely identify impacted pallets and goods, facilitating a rapid re-pick for overnight or direct courier shipment.
Flexible picking
Our Continuous Improvement Manager regularly assesses our processes to ensure optimal effectiveness. As a crucial part of our ongoing improvement initiatives, we have strategically organised the warehouse layout to boost the efficiency and precision of our picking processes. The integration scanners further streamline the various warehouse operations, enhancing overall productivity.
Additionally, we meticulously plan shift patterns, allowing for an earlier departure for trunking to our satellite hubs. All of these concerted efforts contribute to the creation of an efficient and responsive logistics system.
Technology
At Enotria&Coe, we harness technology to boost precision and efficiency across all our operations. This approach also informs our stockholding operations. The backbone of our warehousing technological efficiency lies in the Navision warehouse management system. It is integrated in our website as well as in our pickers’ hand-held terminals, so that they can track every item – who picked it, when, and its current route – providing full traceability.
Navision extends its capabilities to stockholding, granting us comprehensive visibility into stock details such as best-before dates, quantities, and rotation numbers, thus minimising the risk of out-of-stocks and ensuring overall operational excellence.
